Bezhevolnov and Kreinbold have studied the fluorescence spectra of Calcein fluorésee in mixtures and worked out a method for determination of the fluorescein in the concentration range 5 x 10""* — 5 x iO~^°/o. The stability of aqueous solutions of the indicator has been studied thoroughly by Hoyle and Diehl by following the development of residual fluorescence. According to those authors, solutions at pH 7 are stable for not more than 7 days. Alkaline solutions can be used reliably for up to 60 days.
